My second day in Pittsburgh went down unexpectedly ; Yvan fell sick and had a tooth ache so I had to cover for him. We had a debate in front of an all girls catholic high school. I had to admit that at first I was not really excited about debating because I was tired and felt kind of mad but after we began I was completely bipolar. There were over 300 girls and I had a really good team; Erin, Kelly and I .Erin from Pittsburgh University, and Kelly from Duquesne University. We were debating on the resolution that stated “Should future foreign investment in Rwanda prioritize in education?” and we were affirming the resolution, we convinced the audience and had majority of the audience on our side but the negative did a great job at having the undecided percentage of the audience to at least have a ground. What was really funny was when at the end of the debate, the principal of the girls’ school asked us Bryan and I to announce how old we were and once we said ‘14’ over 300 people and my teammates all went ‘what?!’. I was really happy and did not regret participating. It was a great experience and the audience was awesome.
