After a 29 hour flight from Rwanda to L.A I was exhausted but the moment I saw a poster with my name at LAX all of a sudden my spirit lifted and next thing I know we were all bonding with the Pepperdine students and instantly I felt like I was home. Out of their busy schedule their debate coach Sarah Stone Watt and her 3 students; Martha, Marin and Jake took the time to come to the airport and pick us up and we went for dinner and the next few days were nothing but fun.
I, Monique and Clemence were hosted by Dr. Rosilyn Satchel who’s a professor at the Pepperdine and her adorable 4 year old son they made our stay the most comfortable stay and we all got a chance to talk and bond and know each other and after only 5 days I feel like no matter what after the past few days in Pepperdine we found a new family and we’re grateful for everything. Dr. Satchel became practically my second mother and she’s an intelligent, wise and a woman with a big heart who just in a few days transformed me and I want to Dr.Satchel will forever stay with me and may the Lord bless you.
Shout out to Martha!! GIRL THAT MEXICAN FOOD THO!!! Her family hosted us at her house and we had A FIESTA I ate tamalis and hit a piñata with some failed attempts it was greatest day ever I won’t forget all the laughter we shared and I definitely won’t forget all the food. On the weekend we went to UNIVERSAL STUDIOS with Abi and her daughters, the Pepperdine debaters and Aaron it was so much fun, my favorite ride was the mummy ride and I loved the show at water world. Pepperdine University was an amazing university with amazing, intelligent and funny people and I just wonder how the rest of the tour is going to turn out because our first stop was amazing I can imagine how the ending is going to turn out.
