Being on this tour with my teammates is getting more interesting as days go by. We are all having fun and getting to know each other greatly: People are opening up and telling their stories that were unknown to us and everyone has a role to play in making this a great experience for the whole team.
Jean Michel has turned out to be the main referee for the jokes. We have developed a habit of telling a lot of jokes and Jean Michel will be the one in charge of deciding whether or not a joke is funny, if the joke is not funy, Jean Michel will call it out with a simple whistle (pruuuuuuu)
Now you might ask yourself what criteria we use to determine if the joke is good enough;MAYA one of the girls on the team is the decider. We came to a conclusion that her reaction decides the magnitude of the joke; she’s just awesome in her actions. If she laughts and runs at the same time, then the joke qualifies as state of the art, if she laughs and bends her knees while doing the robot dance, the joke was just good, if she laughs with no other action then the joke was bad and Jean Michel will call you out.
Monique for her it’s even more interesting; she says that jokes appear in her mind in a French version and by the time it comes out it’s in the English version and it’s no longer funny. So for most times her jokes get a pruuuuuuuuuu from Jean Michel and guess what she ALWAYS complains because in her mind it’s funny.
Clemence is like that good striker who receives several warnings from the referee for being off-side and then he decides to not attack any more. She is the quiet one on the team we don’t know why but I think its cause she received so many off side that she keeps her jokes to herself.
With me it’s funny because the team says that I never complete my sentences:great beginning and light endings. However, I have developed a deal with maya she will laugh and bend her knees to every joke of mine so that it’s not called out b
y the referee and with that I have promised her not to publish pictures of her sleeping on the plane, in the car, at the airport (Maya just sleeps everywhere)
We are having fun on this tour the bond between us is growing and we are becoming closer to each other. Everytime we go to a new place the host team finds it interesting for example today we introduced the Penn state coach to our culture and he’s already making joke about maya’s “ water is like love it should be free” I guess you would not understand unless you on the team.
