On 27th November 2014 I had my first thanksgiving dinner, after eating to exhaustion, we carried out the old American tradition, we all talked about what we were most thankful for, and that’s when it hit me, we truly do have A LOT to be grateful for, we are a team coming from a tiny country in east Africa looking for connections with US universities, we had only two contact people, we had no money, we had no full time staff, we had no Visas, all we had was a dream and a great God.
Anyway 10 months after the dream 6 members of iDebate came to the US and met some of the nicest, funniest and most trusting people, not to mention patient (they put up with Jean Michel’s slow walking), I remember saying I’m grateful for being part of this organization because only God knows what amazing things He will accomplish through us. I’m grateful and thankful for everything I have, everyone I’ve met, and everything that has been done through me, I’m also thankful that God isn’t done with me, that he has plans to prosper me. And I’m DEFINITELY grateful that I tasted real turkey for once, The only turkey I had ever had was in some freaky turkey sandwich, and I’m not sure if that was really even meat.
I challenge anyone reading this to write down what you are thankful for.
