Living life as a debater is not a basic thing to do. You constantly bicker with your own mind about something as futile as whether it’s worth carrying a pencil with you to school. While it’s pretty obvious how hard it must be for me to concentrate, I do have to juggle several activities per day that the average teenager would never even dream of encountering.
Take this trip to Germany for example. I have to meet up with my team as many times as possible to gather all the required paperwork for our visa applications, meet school deadlines and blogging deadlines as well. Because trust me, if it wasn’t for Bruce sending me a text every now and then reminding me that it’s my turn to write a post, I would go about all my other duties without one worry. With my exams this Wednesday, I need all the prayers I can get; I’ve written the word “Germany” so many times these past few weeks I might even mark it as my name on my papers.
Or my trip to America two years ago. Now for that one, the amount of stress was just extreme. I can still vividly remember our first day in America ; how we had to gather in our hotel room to blog about our day. I professionally slipped into the bed next to them and by the time they turned to see how far I’d gotten with my writing, I was done with my first dream and had already begun hovering over the land of soda pop and ice-cream fountains. Oh, how I wish I could do that now! But hey! I still love all of these crazy adventures I live as a debater.
